[Latest news] Saint-Louis case: Icac Bertrand Lagacy arrested
Bertrand Lajes was arrested by the Independent Commission against Corruption on Friday September 4. He will be charged in the court of Port-Louis with a provisional charge of "money laundering".
Bertrand Lagesse is suspected of being a mediator in the Saint-Louis affair. Last June, his lawyer, Me Joy Beeharry, announced that his client was a power plant engineer, and as such, he worked with the Danish company BWSC. It won a contract worth 4.3 billion rupees for a project to install and develop four turbines at the St. Louis power station. This decade has been marked by allegations of corruption.
Ivan Colindafilo was dismissed from his post as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Services following this affair. The name of the leader of the multinational movement, Paul Berenger, is also mentioned in this case.
